  • Do I need to refrigerate my cake?
    Yes! Cake should be taken out of the refrigerator 1-2 hours before serving. Cakes can be displayed for several hours as long as they are kept in a climate-controlled area no warmer than 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Is Blue Skye Bakery allergy-friendly?
    Unfortunately, we are not an allergy-friendly bakery. While we strive to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions as much as possible, our kitchen handles a variety of ingredients that may not be safe for those with severe allergies. We recommend that customers with allergies or dietary restrictions consult us directly to determine if we can accommodate their needs. Thank you for your understanding.

    We cannot copy someone else's design exactly, but we will do our best to ensure the cake you receive is beautiful and contains all of the details that are important to you.

  • How far ahead of time do I need to order my custom cake?
    Custom cakes must be ordered a minimum of 7 days before your event. Wedding and large event items (50 or more servings) must be ordered a minimum of 30 days before the event.
  • What forms of payment do you accept for your cake decorating services?
    We accept payment in the form of cash, credit/debit cards, and PayPal. We require a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total cost to secure your order, with the remaining balance due on the day before delivery or pickup. We also offer payment plans for larger orders upon request. If you have any questions or concerns about payment, please don't hesitate to contact us.

    Unfortunately, Blue Skye Bakery does not currently have a physical storefront.     To ensure a smooth and efficient pickup experience, we recommend the following: 1. Schedule your pickup time in advance: We highly recommend scheduling your pickup time in advance to avoid any wait times or delays. You can do this by calling us or sending us an email. 2. Arrive on time: We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances may arise, but please try to arrive at the scheduled pickup time. This allows us to manage our workflow and maintain our high standards of quality. 3. Prepare a safe place: If you are ordering a tiered cake or cupcakes, please ensure there is a flat surface to place the cake on during transport. 4. Inspect your order: Before leaving the bakery, please inspect your order to ensure it meets your expectations. If you have any concerns or issues, please notify us immediately so we can address them.   • Do you offer delivery for your cakes?
    Yes, we offer delivery for our cakes within Vermilion Parish only at this time. Don't hesitate to contact us for more information on delivery fees and availability. We want to ensure that your cake arrives safely and beautifully, so we take extra care during the delivery process.
  • How do I prepare my car for my cake order pickup?
    Important instructions for preparing your car and delivering your cake ​ Generally, your cake will be packaged in a sealed box to protect your cake from dust, rain, or foreign objects (with the exception of extremely large or gravity-defying cakes that may not fit packaging) The best way to transport your cake is in the back of a van, station wagon, or SUV. If none of these options are available, it is possible to transport smaller-sized cakes on the floorboard of a car, however, this is the last resort due to the potential for damage. Under no circumstances should a cake be transported on a vehicle seat. (It is also highly discouraged to transport your cake on someone’s knee/lap) Please prepare the back of the vehicle in advance of picking up the cake by clearing out any loose objects and vacuuming/shaking out any debris. On warm days, it is imperative that your vehicle have a working cooling unit (air conditioning). Please run it before your pickup until your car’s interior is cool Allowing pets to be in the car during cake transport is strongly discouraged. Drive carefully. Turns stops and starts should be performed in an EXAGGERATEDLY SLOW manner. Avoid bumps, jiggling, hills, and use a very slow speed on curves. (If it helps, visualize that you are driving with an open bucket of grape juice, and you must not slosh it whatsoever! Other drivers will give you the evil eye… that is okay; they can go around you!) Please adhere to the agreed-upon pickup time. Upon arrival at the event venue, be sure to set up the cake in a cool display area away from sunlight (and away from anywhere sunlight might move to) without delay When opting to pick up your wedding or specialty cake instead of having it delivered you understand that transporting this type of cake requires all of the above pre-arrangements, and you agree to prepare your vehicle in advance accordingly. ​ You acknowledge that once you have picked up your cake, Blue Skye Bakery­­ cannot be held liable for any damage or failure that may occur once the cake leaves our store or during transport, handling, set up, or display. Once you have the cake, it is your responsibility to transport it directly to the event venue and not leave it unattended in your vehicle or anywhere outside.
  • Can a cake order be changed after it has been placed?
    Generally speaking cake orders are considered final once the deposit is paid and the order is entered into our system, but we will allow changes with at least a 5 day notice. Please note the cost of your cake may increase to reflect the changes.
  • What is Blue Skye Bakery's cancellation policy?
    Due to our products' tedious, handcrafted nature, we cannot provide refunds or exchange custom cakes, cake pops, cupcakes, or cookies. Therefore, we only give refunds in accordance with the refund policies. If you need to postpone or reschedule your cake order, we require at least 30 days' notice for weddings, 7 days for large events, and 5 days for small events. If we do not receive adequate notice, you may incur an extra charge to recreate the elements on the cake. If you cancel your order more than 30 days in advance, you will receive a refund for the balance, less the non-refundable retainer fee. In the event of unavoidable situations such as a hurricane, blackout, fire, or any other Act of Nature, no refunds will be given. You may reschedule or request a full store credit. This includes the unfortunate nature of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
  • What is Blue Skye Bakery's Refund policy?
    If you place a retainer on an order and you cancel, no refunds will be given. Cake flavor and texture are subjective. Therefore, refunds requested due to flavor or texture after cake has been accepted and picked up will not be honored. You may qualify for store credit if the product is brought back to us and the quality of the cake flavor or texture is determined not to meet our standards (Our cakes are tasted daily to ensure the highest possible quality). Quality determination is solely at the discretion of Blue Skye Bakery, LLC. Our cakes are baked from scratch with the best quality ingredients possible and need to be kept out at room temperature for at least two hours prior to serving. Keep in mind that variety in temperature and humidity may impact the cake's flavor, overall design, or texture to some degree. Please understand that we cannot control changes in texture, color, or shape due to weather conditions. We do not freeze our cakes, nor do we deliver cakes frozen. The following 3 scenarios are the only instances when we will provide a full or partial refund: If we fail to deliver your cake on the date and time stated on your contract for your wedding or event. Please not that if the customer provides the wrong date, time, or address for delivery or inadequate directions, we will not provide a refund. We will not be responsible for any additional expenses you incur due to our failure to deliver the cake. Our liability is limited to the contracted value of the cake. If you choose to pick up your order and the cake does not meet your expectations, we will give you a refund minus a 25% handling fee. This refund will be in place of a check. No cash or credit card refunds will be given. If you choose a refund, you cannot keep the cake, and we will not negotiate a partial refund if you keep the cake. This is a "take it or leave it" policy. We are not responsible for any expense you may incur for replacing our cake. If we deliver the cake to you and the cake does not meet your expectations, we will give you a refund minus a 25% handling fee. If you request a refund at the time of delivery, you cannot keep the cake, and we will take it with us. We will not negotiate a partial refund if you keep the cake. This is a "take it or leave it" policy. We are not responsible for any expense you may incur for replacing our cake. We do not give refunds under any other circumstances. Refunds are given within 7 days. Disclaimer: In the case of an emergency or an error in your cake delivery, please contact us immediately so we can fix the issue right away! If you are unhappy with your cake for any reason, call us (do not email) on the day of your event and explain the situation. Without proof that you are indeed unhappy with the product and will not be using it for your event, we will be unable to refund any portion of your payment. This is necessary to hinder the rare case of the "if we complain, we'll get a free cake" issue we occasionally encounter. We are dedicated to satisfying our clients!
